Chris Steward (125 appearances, 22 goals)

After completing his studies and receiving a PE degree from the University of Brighton, Chris is now Head of Physical Education at Bexhill in Sussex.

During his time with the University of Brighton, Chris captained the first team and was a member of the team which narrowly lost on penalties to Wolverhampton in the national universities tournament.

Chris played for both Hethersett Middle School and Hethersett High School before moving to sixth form at the Hewett School where he captained the first team which reached the semi-finals of the national schools' competition and which won numerous trophies both at schools and adult levels.

Chris was also in the victorious Hewett School side which won the USA Cup in Minneapolis. He initially played village soccer for the team run jointly by Andy Newstead and Ian Harrison which won a number of competitions. He joined Hethersett Athletic at Under-17 level and subsequently adult level and has captained the club's first team. He was a key member of the three Norwich Sunday League championship teams run by Ian Harrison. He has also represented the Norwich Thursday League and played in the Anglian Combination Premier Division for both Mulbarton and Acle United. Chris is now skipper of Little Common in the Sussex County League and has played for Sussex on a number of occasions.

Chris was the first ever winner of the Lee Thompson Memorial Trophy for outstanding contribution to Hethersett Athletic.

Chris has played virtually all positions, but is most at home in either central midfield or central defence. He is the son of club chairman Peter Steward and brother of Matt Steward.

Matt Steward (332 appearances, 139 goals)

Matt is a police officer in Norwich. He has a  BA Honours degree in Physical Education from Leeds Metropolitan University where his dissertation looked at the affect of technology in cricket.

Matt is one of only three players to complete 300 league and cup games for the club and he currently plays for both the men's Saturday and Sunday firsts. He is second in the club's all time appearance list and fourth in the all time goalscorers despite playing much of the time in central defence.

He joined Hethersett Athletic at Under-10s level and has played through the age groups and appeared for all four men's teams.

He has also represented Hethersett Middle and High Schools and the Hewett School and Wymondham Town in the Anglian Combination. Whilst at Hethersett High School, Matt was named sportsperson of the year.

He is the youngest son of club chairman Peter Steward and brother of Chris Steward.
