A National FA Community Charter Club Martin's Epic Challenge On the 15th September 2011 I will be
embarking on an epic fundraising challenge. I will be going on the
‘Amsterdam 300’. ‘As
Big Ben chimes midnight on Thursday 15 September 2011 a peloton of
intrepid cyclists will strike out through the deserted streets of London
and going via France and Belgium, they aim to reach the capital of
Holland in less than 2 days.’ I am doing this on behalf of Scope, the charity for
people with cerebral palsy. Every six hours a child is born with cerebral
palsy. Cerebral palsy is the most commonly diagnosed physical condition
in the UK, and occurs around the time of birth when part of the brain
fails to develop properly. It can happen to any child. Scope is the
largest charity in the UK working with people with cerebral palsy, their
families and carers. The money raised from the ‘Amsterdam 300’ will
allow Scope to continue running their vital services which are designed
to support disabled people in every aspect of their lives from birth
through to adulthood. Scope’s aim is that disabled people achieve
quality in everyday life. I have pledged to raise a total of £1,200.00 for
Scope. Of this money, just £40 would be enough for a
half-hour physiotherapy session, which could allow a child to pick up a
spoon and learn how to feed themselves. Scope is currently only able to reach one in four
people who need help. With your support Scope will be able to reach more
people. If you or your company would like to donate, then
you can sponsor me online by visiting: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MartinAnderton Remember if you are an individual UK tax payer,
Scope can claim Gift Aid on your donation. This is where the government
reimburses Scope with the tax you have already paid on your gift – at
no extra cost to you. In order for Gift Aid to be added to your donation
please tick this box. Thank you so much for supporting me. I will give
you regular updates on my progress and more importantly how much money
we have managed to raise. Kind regards, Martin Anderton
