Youth Team Funday

It's that time of year again when we celebrate everything that has been happening in our youth teams. This year's funday will take place at Hethersett Junior School on Saturday June 9th. The day will include the presentation of trophies to all our youth sides and they will also show their footballing expertise in small sided games. There will be plenty of other attractions as well. Members of the public are most welcome to attend the event.

Ladies Hearts Beaten in a Thriller

Our Ladies Hearts team (pictured above) were desperately unlucky to lose their Norfolk League Cup Final 5-4 against Acle in a match that went to extra-time and which see-sawed backwards and forwards throughout. To read a report of the match click here. You can also read the story from the Wymondham and Attleborough Mercury by clicking here.

Bitter Sweet Day for Hannah

It was a bitter sweet day for Ladies Hearts striker Hannah Waters when she scored a hat-trick for our Ladies Hearts side in the final of the Norfolk League Cup only to end on the losing side. Hannah was also making her 100th appearance for the club and her three goals took her into joint second place in the club's all time scoring table - just one goal behind leader Scott Allen

Managers/Coaches Wanted

National Community Charter Standard club Hethersett Athletic is looking for managers and coaches for its adult teams as the club continues its plans to expand.

“At the present time we have 312 playing members and run 14 teams for both sexes and all ages from seven to adult.

“Running a club our size takes an army of volunteers to coach, manage and help with the day to day running of individual teams. We are an extremely progressive club that holds national charter mark awards and are looking for land in Hethersett to provide our own facilities,” said club chairman Peter Steward.

“At the present time we run two ladies teams, two men’s Sunday teams and a men’s Saturday side. We need additional help with managing, coaching and the general running of these teams,” he added.

Anybody interested in helping the club should contact club secretary Mel Perkins on 01603 811304.

Sponsors for Under-11s

The Under-11s have been given a new match kit and training tops through the generosity of new sponsors Panel Graphic. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of protective and contrast enhancement front screens for electronic information displays and specialist coatings for the automotive, military, medical, aviation and marine industry sectors.

Topping Out Ceremony

Our Sunday First Team have been presented with a new set of training tops by our sponsors Park Farm Hotel. Here is the team pictured with them before the match against Hingham. On the left Chris Thirtle and coach Neil Luther with one of the jackets. We are very grateful to Park Farm for their generosity and sponsorship.
